Tyga Says AI Helped On New “$TARFACE” Album & Gave His Reasons Why It’s OK

Tyga admitted AI helped create “$TARFACE,” comparing the technology to Auto Tune.

Tyga is admitting what has been pretty much confirmed, he uses AI.

Artificial intelligence played a role in creating his latest project, “$TARFACE,”even though he knows the admission will spark debate.

The rapper talked to VIBE and admitted that AI was part of his creative process. He described it simply as another tool available to artists.

“We definitely used AI as a [tool]. And I know people are going to be mad about me saying this, but it’s where technology is going.”

Tyga compared the current backlash surrounding AI to the criticism Auto Tune faced when it first became popular. He argued that innovation has always been met with opposition before becoming widely accepted.

“It’s no different than when Auto-Tune came out. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.”

According to Tyga, he deliberately avoided discussing AI publicly until now.

“I’ve never spoken on this with anybody because I always felt like it’s similar to a magician explaining how he does his tricks.”

Artificial intelligence continues to reshape conversations across Hip-Hop. Moreover, IG talking heads had been breaking down the songs to expose the practice.

Fenix Flexin, a friend of Tyga, has faced accusations from critics for using AI in his music. He isn’t coming clean like Tyga though. Producer Medasin analyzed one of Flexin’s records and questioned elements of its production, while Fenix producer Purp On The Beat disputed the allegations.

Fenix collaborated with Tyga in the past…but he’s tight-lipped.

Tyga’s comments may reignite conversations, bt he said on thing definitively.

“But as far as the writing, all the vocals are all me. There’s nothing wrong with using technology as a tool.”
